Welcome to Bartons Creek Coffee!

We’re Katie and Lennie Friedman. We met in high school and both traveled to NC for college. Keeping it lively, Lennie went to Duke to play football and Katie to UNC to not play football. We fell in love with this state and decided to make Raleigh our home. We’ve loved it here for decades, raised our three kids, Sayde, Connor and Ella, and built a life filled with community, creativity, and, of course, coffee.

For years, we’d drive past this little building near our home and imagine what it could be—a warm, inviting space for great coffee and even greater connections. When the opportunity arose to bring that dream to life, we dove in headfirst. Combining Katie’s lifelong love for art and Lennie’s knack for business, we’ve poured our hearts into making Bartons Creek Coffee a true passion project.

Our focus is on supporting North Carolina’s incredible local talent. From the beans we brew to the art on our walls, we partner with local coffee roasters, artists, and craftspeople to celebrate the best of our community. In a world where you can order anything with the click of a button, we believe in slowing down, supporting local makers, and creating a space where people can connect.
