Angry Mane Stitching

My name is Rebecah and I'm the maker behind Angry Mane Stitching (AMS).  Originally from Wisconsin I studied science and art in college and began calling NC home shortly after graduation.  Later in life, busy raising my daughters and no easy access to an art studio, I remembered the craft of my youth and started cross-stitching to fulfil my need to create.

I find inspiration anywhere but undoubtedly most in the tiny, but mighty, hummingbird.  I relate their epic migration journey to our own life struggles, reminding myself every day that amazing things come in small packages, whether physical items or acts of kindness.  I stitched the hummingbird pattern repeatedly, sharing it with family and friends, and that was the beginning of AMS.  I now enjoy designing a lot of my own patterns in order to make my passion for cross-stitching more personal.  I like making an old-fashioned craft feel more modern and relatable.

I believe good things can come out of bad situations and our life experiences are the fuel we use to create art.  I make my items with love, hope, humor and a little anger.  The anger comes mostly from my hair, hence the name, AMS.
